Diploma in Furniture Carpentry
This daytime diploma course is designed to give you the basic furniture carpentry techniques, craftmanship and design skills that will help you prepare for higher studies, develop your artistic expression or simply provide you with new energy in your daily life! Maybe you want to lay the foundation to a completely new line of work or spice up your curriculum or portfolio with fresh qualifications.
The course includes both practical och theoretical elements and is set up in project form, which means you will see your project through from sketch to finished product. You will learn the basic techniques and practical knowledge of materials, tools and machines. During the course you will have the opportunity to make a process project, which will be the foundation of your furniture design. Lectures on furniture history and contemporary furniture designers will be included in the course.
The course merges theory and practice, but the main emphasis lies on the practical elements. Teaching takes place in groups, with individual guidance and supervision of the progress of each student.
The course consists of two course days a week, Tuesdays and Saturdays hrs 09.00-15.15, during a total of 13 weeks.
No prior knowledge or experience is required.
