Om arrangemanget

Have you ever been intrigued by how plants could interact with each other and with their ecosystem? If so, this is the course for you! This course will be held in English.

Content

Plants can communicate with each other and with their environment through many different ways. During this course, Agnès will share her knowledge of how plants communicate with each other and she will show you how to design and implement a diverse and resilient vegetable and herb garden. You will discover how non-dig gardening, permaculture and food forest follow the principles of plant communication and how this creates a sustainable and resilient food production model that delivers food at low negative environmental and social costs and which enhances the local ecosystem. The course will take place in Agnès garden, where she grows vegetables, fruit trees, shrubs, and perennial herbs. Seeing the garden at its young stage will allow you to better visualize how to start a no-dig gardening that follow the principles of plant communication and that will further provide habitats for various insects and animals, while sequestering carbon.

Place

The course will take place in an old farmhouse near Frötuna called Barberg situated 30min from Uppsala. After being a permanent residence until 1951, Barberg was used as a summer residence until 2022. Then Agnès and her partner decided to purchase the property as permanent residence as it was before and to live an off-grid lifestyle of self-sufficiency.

We meet at Barberg at 10:00 a.m. The exact address will be sent to you following registration.
