SOCIAL DANCING – COMMUNITY DANCE CIRCLE WITH SOCIAL HUB / INTERKULTUR

A community-led dance circle organised by Social Hub / Interkultur in collaboration with Medborgarskolan. This is not one of Medborgarskolan’s regular paid dance courses. Come to dance, meet new people and discover the joy of Latin rhythms in a relaxed setting.

FOR WHO?

The Open House sessions in September are open to everyone, with or without previous dance experience. No partner is needed—we rotate partners so that everyone can dance together.

From October, the dance circle is open to members of Social Hub / Interkultur i Lund. Anyone is welcome to become a member by registering and paying the organisation’s membership fee of 100 SEK, valid until December 2027. Click here for more info.

INSTRUCTOR

The sessions are led by Social Hub / Interkultur and organised in collaboration with Medborgarskolan.

During September, you can discover three different Latin dance experiences:

• Cuban Salsa—playful, circular and full of Caribbean energy

• Cuarteto Argentino—an energetic session filled with brass and joy

• Dominican Bachata—soulful, romantic and deeply rhythmic

In October, we begin with one final Dominican Bachata session. From Wednesday 14 October, the dance circle focuses fully on the basics of Cuban Salsa and continues every Wednesday until the Christmas holidays.

Beginners are encouraged to attend regularly to build a strong foundation. Returning dancers are welcome to practise the basics and refine their technique.

The aim is not to train performers, but to create a welcoming community where people can dance, connect and have fun together.

MATERIAL

Wear comfortable clothes and clean, comfortable indoor shoes to help us protect the dance floor.

Bring an open mind and a willingness to meet new people!

• Location: Medborgarskolan Lund, Bangatan 10 A, dance hall

• September: Open House—everyone is welcome to try the sessions

• October onward: Participation is for members of Social Hub / Interkultur i Lund

• Membership fee: 100 SEK, paid to Social Hub / Interkultur and valid until December 2027

• Course fee: There is no Medborgarskolan course fee

• No partner is required

• Language: English
