Previous knowledge

Whether you’re just discovering salsa for the first time or already feeling the fire, there’s something here for everyone. Salsa style taught is LA Salsa (linea).

Your ticket includes

A salsa dance class, tasty food, a non-alcoholic drink and social dancing!

Program

17:45 - Doors open

18:00-18:55 - Beginners Salsa Class - For new salsa dancers with no or little experience.

19:00-20.00 - Intermediate Salsa Class - For those confident with fundamental steps and simple partner turns.

20:00-22:30 - Social Dancing for All!

What’s on the menu?

Choose between:

El Toro Wrap — slow-cooked spiced beef with tangy slaw, seasonal greens, and a cool creamy sauce with Nordic herbs.

Grön Fiesta Wrap — a vibrant vegetarian medley of roasted seasonal vegetables with a smoky kick and herby drizzle.

Our wraps are served warm, wrapped, and ready to enjoy anywhere in the room.

Food is served at set times:

• 18.15 for intermediate dancers, before your class.

• 19.15 for beginners, after your class.

Plus, our bar will be open all night with some of the finest non-alcoholic drinks around!

About the venue

CandleLight Studios is a creative and wellbeing space located 2 minutes walk from Grängesberg train and bus stations, and is just a train stop away from Ludvika. Limited parking available onsite.

Course leader

Meet Annemarie Anang, a versatile artist and educator making waves in the world of arts and education. Annemarie has been dancing Salsa around the globe for more than 20 years and with a background in dance, music, literature and education, she brings a diverse skill set to her role. Annemarie began her dance journey as a child at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London.

Annemarie was recently appointed Artistic Director of the new CandleLight Studios in Grängesberg.

Originally hailing from London, Annemarie now calls Sweden home. Embracing her new surroundings, she is committed to enriching the cultural landscape and inspiring others through her passion for the arts.

The workshop are led in English so some knowledge of the English language is required.

Medborgarskolan and public education

We create public education together in study circles that are driven forward through the exchange of knowledge. The study circle is the popular education movement's classic course form and can be about big and small, local and global. It can be carried out at meetings or remotely and the individual participant can influence the structure and content of the circle according to a democratically inspired model.

Medborgarskolan is a humanistic study association that gives you the opportunity to learn, develop and exchange experiences and thoughts with other people. We have a wide range of activities and cooperation with associations and organizations in many different subjects.
