Prova på workshop - Divina Zouk

Welcome to a free trial of a new BachaZouk choreography created by Rita Anthony, founder of Divina Zouk.

No prior Zouk experience is needed — this project is aimed at experienced Bachata dancers who are curious to explore Zouk-inspired techniques in a structured way.

During the trial, we will go through a simplified version of the choreography (song 1 only for the trial) to give you a sense of the project, its style, and the storytelling behind it, which is female empowerment.

*Place: Viktoriagatan 21, Gothenburg

(6 min walk from Vasa Viktoriagatan / Medborgarskolan)

More advanced techniques will be explored gradually during the course.

About the choreography

This project blends the foundation of Bachata with influences from Brazilian Zouk, creating a fusion style often referred to as BachaZouk.

The choreography consists of two songs:

*Song 1 focuses on storytelling, expression, and connection, with stronger Zouk influences and female partnerwork.

*Song 2 is more rhythmical and grounded in Bachata, with solo formations and subtle Zouk flavours such as flow and head movement.

The process is built in clear phases, allowing time to develop technique step by step in a supportive way.

Who is this for?

This trial is for dancers who:

*have around 2–3 years of Bachata experience

*enjoy storytelling and expressive movement

*are curious to explore Zouk-inspired techniques in a structured process

About the course

If the trial feels right, the full choreography course is planned to start in early February, with weekly Monday classes at Viktoriagatan 21.

The classes will be held in the same spacious and bright studio (normally used for ballet classes), giving plenty of room to work with movement, posture, and flow.
